4/18/06 - Our mission today

Today we woke up at the crack of dawn (7:45 a.m.) (okay, so that's not the crack of dawn but in California it is!) After a nutritious breakfast at McDonald's....

our mission today is to get this stack.....

moved over to these areas (that's Vickie Wagner).....

to build and paint a fence for a church neighbor.

PRAYER REQUEST - Please pray for our safety today, for our health, for protection from injury as we do our work, and protection from the heat. It's about 90 degrees and 800% humidity. There are other groups working today that are hosted by Berean Bible Church. Please be in prayer for them as well.

As I've been sitting in the church office today to make these blog posts, I've heard several calls come in with people asking for assistance in getting their homes back in order. It's April 2006, eight months after the hurricane, and there is still SO much need. Please pray for their recovery efforts.

PRAISE REQUEST - Thank the Lord that we all arrived here safely yesterday. Lots of things happened and we all made it through. Also, there are lots and lots of people that are out here volunteering in the recovery effort. I am thankful that we haven't forgotten about New Orleans just because it's not in the news anymore.

Berean Bible Church is a hub of recovery efforts, providing lodging, supplies, and most importantly, coordination for all the groups that are coming in.
